Paul Young is a board-certified Physician Associate with more than 20 years of experience in medicine, grounded in comprehensive primary care and strengthened by extensive emergency and hospital-based leadership. His practice philosophy blends advanced medical science with modern technology, thoughtfully integrating artificial intelligence–supported tools to enhance diagnostic depth, ensure thorough assessments, and personalize care — while preserving the human connection that remains central to meaningful medicine.
For the past seven years, Paul has practiced as a solo rural hospital provider, delivering full-spectrum care across clinic, inpatient, and emergency department settings while contributing to operational and clinical strategy. In these roles, he provided continuity-driven primary care in environments where autonomy, sound judgment, and adaptability were essential. He also oversees multiple EMS agencies as a liaison medical director and serves as a clinical advisor for a large state healthcare coalition, strengthening integration between public health initiatives, prehospital services, and hospital care.
Prior to serving as a solo rural hospital practitioner, Paul worked in multiple emergency departments, including Level I trauma centers, as well as in primary care within a functional medicine clinic. These experiences shaped both his clinical precision and his appreciation for systems-based, root-cause approaches to health.
Paul earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder before completing his Master of Medical Science at the Emory University School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program, where he graduated at the top of his class with highest honors and was elected to Who’s Who Among American Universities and Colleges.
In addition, he holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Emergency Medicine (CAQ-EM) through the American Academy of Physician Associates and is a Fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine (FAWM) through the Wilderness Medical Society. He earned a certificate in Global Health through the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a certification in Travel Medicine through the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He is currently a member of the Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M) and is pursuing fellowship training, reflecting his commitment to longevity science, metabolic optimization, and evidence-informed regenerative care.
Through his direct primary care and wellness practice, Paul integrates traditional primary care with metabolic health, longevity medicine, and personalized optimization strategies. His approach is proactive rather than reactive — focused on preventing disease, extending healthspan, and building enduring partnerships with patients who seek a more thoughtful and elevated model of care.
Outside of medicine, Paul values time with his wife and children, enjoys Colorado’s outdoor pursuits, continues his passion for music playing drums and bass, and maintains a love of travel and experiencing new cultures around the world.
